Cool Your Mouth With a Delicious Shake

You’ve just eaten some delicious Wings Over New Haven hot wings and now your mouth is on fire. How do you cool it?

Don’t reach for the glass of cold water, as it will only make things worse! Although water has a temporary cooling effect, chugging down glass after glass of water will actually spread the spiciness around.

Instead, grab a glass of milk – or anything else containing dairy, a spoonful of sugar, a lemon, or some starchy bread or French fries.

Milk contains casein, which helps to break up the capsaicin that causes the burning sensation from spicy food. The cool temperature will also help.

Ice cream – or one of our delicious milkshakes – will help for these reasons and because of its consistency, it will stay in the mouth for longer and will really work some cooling magic.
Sugar is great because it helps by absorbing the spicy oil that is coating your mouth, as well as giving you a different, strong taste in your mouth.

Eating a lemon, bread, or French fries helps to soak up or strip off the spicy oil from the inside of your mouth, cooling it off effectively.

While all of these methods will work, we recommend grabbing one of our shakes. Not only will you get the cooling you desire, but also the flavor you love.
